History of the Property

The historic property offers a glimpse of the early days

The 1910 era farmhouse was once owned by early Seattle business and timber baron Fred Stimson and then gifted to his daughter Ashcha. She named it Fresh Air Farm and used it to bring city children out to the farm for country play, fresh air, fresh milk and eggs. The home was located near a large poultry and dairy operation that is part of Woodinville's early history. Mr. Stimson also built a cottage next door to the Fresh Air Farm as a wedding gift to his daughter.

Fred Stimson also owned a private hunting retreat in the area. Today that hunting retreat is enjoyed by many as the "manor house" located on the historic grounds of the Chateau Ste. Michelle winery. Both the hunting retreat and the Fresh Air Farm are of similar era.
